This is for support, bug reports, feature requests, and general feedback for the Historical Start mod.

If you are reporting a bug, please remember that I can't see your computer, so you need to be very explicit in your description of the issue so that I can understand what's going on. Logs and/or screenshots to support your report would also be a good idea and will generally save time.

1. Would you consider adding trams (light rail) as well as heavy rail? Cable systems and horse-drawn trolleys on the street go back a long way too (the first horse-drawn tramway opened in 1807). Tramway suburbs were very much in vogue for some decades, like rail suburbs.

2.This screen shot is from a new game. I added a short road just to trigger the game, so to speak. Historical Start is the only mod in my playset. Transport options are locked. Is this expected?

OK, problem solved (touch wood!). At the game launcher I logged out of my Paradox account and back in again. This triggered or synchronised something and this mod is now working for me.

If nothing is unlocking, then the game hasn't loaded the mod. You may need to restart the game if mods haven't loaded properly on the first attempt.

And it appears that logging out and in of your Paradox account might also help (thanks, Potoroo! - also reported by others).

Trams are something I can look at, yes (although noting that even historical cities didn't add them until they were fairly well progressed).

Historical city for me means 1835+. Melbourne, Australia got trams in the late 19th century, ran one of the world's largest cable tram networks until 1940 and today has the world's largest electric tram network. Swanston St in the Central Business District is the world's busiest tram corridor. Trams are thus integral to the city I grew up in. (We also had Australia's first operational heavy rail line but you've already got that covered).

It's less about the timeline and more about the stage of city development - for example, Melbourne was founded in 1835, but even counting the original Sandridge railway line as a tram line Melbourne didn't have trams until twenty years later (and obviously not until the 1880s if you only count tram lines originally built as tram lines). So, in game terms - Melbourne was founded on a greenfields site, then developed several levels and got a railway, and then developed several levels more and got trams; trams weren't there from the very early days of the city. So you can already track Melbourne's development through historical stages without needing trams unlocked at the start of the game.

I'm not aware of any city in the world that was founded with a pre-existing tram network (although I'd love to hear about any strange cases where that actually happened!), but certainly many cities were founded around a railway station (especially in the U.S. and Canada).

However, that doesn't mean that I won't add trams in the future - but I'll add it as a custom option that people can opt into.

would be nice to have from start control over trafic lights (i need simply to remove it, dont need in an super small town trafic lights for 5 cars ...) and control over the way to many generated pedestrian crosswalk ..... would delete more than half ..... ;)

Hi! I really love this mod. Previously I used it via ThSt. Now via ParaMo it doesn't seem to work. Any way to deal with this? Is there a list of dependencies / incompatible mods inside the shop which I shoulldn't use together with this one?
I tried changing playsets, re-logging into Paradox and restarting the game, still the mod doesn't work :(

I'm not aware of any incompatible mods with Paradox Mods. Can you see a file 'Historical Start.log' in the Logs folder in your local settings? (%LocalAppDataLow%\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II\Logs)

hey, i love this idea for a mod, but i think my bus transit is broken. i can build depots and create lines but the actual line icon is disabled so i can't modify the bus route properties. any ideas?

No idea, sorry (obviously, this mod doesn't affect busses at all). Can you still click on the lines directly and modify them (not the icon, the lines themselves)?

the workaround is to click on the bus station, then "view details" next to the lines which brings up the properties window to adjust the line. for posterity, if anyone has this issue. otherwise works great i'm not sure why the issue exists for me, i've removed other mods to isolate the problem

Sure you are aware, but with the new surprise content drop, the new rail stations aren't unlocked by the mod.

Has the potential to make this even more "historical start" by only unlocking the small train station too. But that's your call, just making sure you are aware of the change.

Nope, wasn't actually aware - thanks for the heads-up! Yes, they are much better suited to the theme of the mod, and I will include them.

Came here just to say that and to also ask what your thoughts are about having the basic 1+1 and 1+2 country (highway) roads. Rather frusting how long one has to wait for them. Take CPPs map Magnolia for example. Can't add on to it without having roads with pavment. It's not the end of the world of course, but it would amazing
