Came here just to say that and to also ask what your thoughts are about having the basic 1+1 and 1+2 country (highway) roads. Rather frusting how long one has to wait for them. Take CPPs map Magnolia for example. Can't add on to it without having roads with pavment. It's not the end of the world of course, but it would amazing
Agreed. This has been a frustration of mine as well.

Yes, that makes sense. I'm hoping to have some time to implement an update in the next week or so.

Mod does not seem to be working. Everything is still locked.
In that case it's most likely that the mod hasn't been installed (often this is caused by forgetting to restart the game after subscribing to and downloading mods). Can you see a log file for it? (ETA: 'it' means the mod, i.e. the Historical Start.log file)
 
Any chance you could add the District creation tool? I use it for planning purposes -- to draw a box and then name the district "Future Whatever", then adjust the boundaries later when I actually work in that area. Thanks.

I've added it to the list. I've had a number of suggestions, so I'll need to implement an options UI for players to choose what they want.

Would it be possible to unlock setting the transportation service budget at the start? Trains are expensive and while I love using this mod, it makes the start of the game much harder as I cannot reduce the budget of the trains until way further into the game :)
 
Love the mod. There was one similar in CS1 where buses were unlocked early. Could you consider adding this as an option in a future update?

I've tried to make changes locally after cloning the repo, but I really need to learn the CS2 API more before I'm close to comfortable submitting a PR with the changes. Suggesting the feature seems easier at this point.

Added to the list! Such functionality needs an options panel implemented as well, which I'm working on.

  • Add support for unlocking buses, trams, and highways.
  • Add generic support for region packs, DLC, and custom content.
  • Unlock transportation overview if any public transportation is unlocked.
  • Rework backend unlocking mechanism and target identification.
