We started by hatching a plan. We thought we could bait a bunch of units to Tokyo and smash them decisively and then counterattack the weakened troops. The first part worked.
At 0h the AI makes a decision on how to move troops. They were marching 19 Divisions on 3 Motor Divisions. 14 Armor Divisions showed up at 16h, a full 7h before the attack.
On May 10, we decided to replace Sir John Simon with Neville Chamberlain. So we lost our 15% IC boost in favor of lower dissent cost. We figured if our economy is going to be limited based on coal production, then IC bonuses do no good, but dissent bonuses do.
In the Pacific, we located the main group of Japanese Transports and smashed them down to a single.
June 7 was our D-Day. We had a single Armor Division show up from the south with the intention of counting as one extra direction of envelopment. Unfortunately it showed up way too early. We should instead move our armor to a neighboring territory and then synchronize the attack. Instead, it showed up 12 hours too early and got reduced to 0h0m and the mistake cost 7MP and 1511 Supplies.
We attack at midnight. Got it?
Got it.
....
Crap. Was that 12:00am or 12:00pm?
...
Sometimes 15 minutes prior to 15 minutes prior turns into 12 hours prior.
...
On June 7, we arrived in force at Fukushima, 48 Divisions against 40. We discovered to our horror that they were at full strength and organization. Of course, we can only see 6 of the 40.
At the start of our attack, it was 4800 to 4000 to our advantage.
On June 9, it was 4069 to 2932. If we start out winning, then we are definitely winning.
On June 10, it was 3691 to 1978. This is looking very decisive!
Our victory was finalized at 23h on June 11, 1944.
We were even able to replenish our troop strength with 50MP to spare.
There is not much left to do except run the clock down. That might be done tomorrow. It might be the end of the week. The last time I played this (in this thread) I was always wondering if the Soviets were going to declare.
What should we do with Japan? Do we still annex or do we start releasing puppets? I made the post and will think about it one night and make a decision. We might top the BB list after all!
