Hey guys!! new here, also to this kind of game. i know, it's about time, oh well.

just started playing last week, i figured i'd start with the 1rst, then move my way up(although i read everywhere that the 3rd, is just that, a... nevermind.)

i have a few questions:

what's the difference between the game and the CORE game? when i installed the game, i saw those 2 icons, but what's the difference?

can i load troops and tanks on transport ships, or is it only marines?

in some situations i can change the date to a couple of days or so later in the ccb when i plan an attack, and other times, i can't change it, and the closest time is like, a week or so later. what's the deal?

how do you produce supplies? i don't have a problem with coal, steel, rubber, oil, but my supplies are running alarmingly low...

that's about it for now, thanks!!! :D

CORE is a mod for HoI. It is the same game with lots of changed, enhanced and several additional events.
If you just installed the game then your CORE installation probably is not the newest version. In my Platinum HoI game was CORE 0.8X and the current version is 0.92.
But please ask questions about CORE in the CORE subforum here:

You can load all land-units on transport ships. However everyone except Marines will have a *severe* penalty attacking an enemy from ship to shore. So best unload other troops than Marines only on safe shores.

Speed. Every unit has a speed at which it travels. Infantery with Artillery at the start crawls at speed 3, Tankettes hurry with speed 15 if you researched one of the upgrades. So the tankettes can reach the neighbouring province FAST but the Infantery will take longer. Especially if you move in provinces with mountains. Even moreso in provinces with lower infrastucture.

Then produce more ;)
You don´t actually "produce" resources like coal etc. Those are on the map and you gain that every turn into your stockpile. Supplies on the other hand are produced by your precious industry. If you need more supplies you have to move the slider in the industry screen. And more supplies meand less industry for research and production of new units...

thanks for answering!!! that'll help!!

so i guess that means i'll have to play the CORE version, then...

as for the transports... er... how do you put troops and tanks on? i choose my unit, then i right-click on the boat, but it won't go...

speaking of industries, what does building more change? my provinces are producing more raw materials? i have more IC? i can build more units at the same time?

i don't think i saw anything covering that in the manual.

thanks again!!! really appreciated!! :D

to load troops on to ships you have to have transports and atleast 1 for every divisions. buildng more ic will cut the ic of that province in half for a certain time and then it will be a little more than the original,so its best to build ic in provinces with only 1 or 2 ic,it doesnt increase steel, rubber etc.your totol ic which is shown at the top right can be spread between the four different things on the industry page, if you are red in consumer goods youre dissent increases which decreases ic,if youre supplies are too low youre troops might be completely ineffective or not be as good, technology and building divisions work by having a certain amount of ic for each thing so if youre reasearching 3 tecnologies with 10 ic each and you have 25 ic set to technology the one lowest on the list of technologies being reasearched will take twice as long, same idea for building divisions

thanks!!

it's kinda hard getting the hang of the whole IC management thing, but with what you said, it should help. :D i also noticed that the more IC i have that i'm not using, (ex. 39/420), my raw materials are going up instead of down. i'm playing the 1936 scenario, i built a lot of infantry, some pzII squads, fighters, a couple battleships, destroyers, carrier. now i'm waiting till 1939 to see what i'll do then. i'm trying to get nukes as fast as possible, though i'm not sure it's the best way to go...

i would say that nukes are kindve a waste of ic,it takes down the infrastructure,ic,steel, rubber, coal, oil and divisions in a province . nukes are built automaticaly without using ic if you have the tech, different types of nukes are built at different speed and they all have the same effect.but the ic that getting the technology requires could be used for building divisions and other technologies.if you arent too interested in winning genuinely you can press F12 to pull up a cheat window and type in nuke for nukes, coal for coal, rubber for rubber, steel for steel,di for diplomatic influence, fullcontrol to control all the divisions in the whole game and a few others
