In a quest to stop your spamming, I have googled your question - if you are using steam, it's not possible. The start/end is hardcoded and the patch to "fix" it does not work with the steam distribution.
Otherwise, the most up-to-date "fix" is here, see the OP of the thread for further instructions. And please, do not bump the dead thread.
