So noted... I will add that to the directory...

Generalisimo, you are doing some fine work... can I ask if you are including both the shields and the flags in your .rar's?

I've added new flags for:

The Free French

Tanzania

Tanganika

I am currently testing a Photoshop action set that will rapidly speed up flag making.... I can open the Shield_master, then a gif, and run the action, and after a second, I have a new shield, ready for saving... I should have it up on my site soon.

Newfoundland as is Canada is the union jack in reality at this time..the political branch placed on government buildings is the red duster in the army...you have only the union jack. The maple leaf was first used in roadsides for directions to show where ( Canadian )divisions were stationed.

yes, that's why they are .RAR and not .BMP :D :D

EDIT:
the names of the files are for easy recognition. For example the flag & shield of the European Union have the names:
flag_EU.BMP
shield_EU.BMP
when you want to use them you have to change the tag (in this case "EU ") to the TAG of the nation, for example "U01".

Newfoundland as a possible puppet state in a possible Axis invasion of North America, using the above flag...

Text supporting my choice...

From Simon Fraser's tome on Canadian flags (http://www.fraser.cc/FlagsCan/toc.html):

The first flag to specifically represent Newfoundland seems to have borne a green fir tree upon a pink field. In use early in the nineteenth century, it is likely that this flag was based on a similar flag, but with a white field, that had been flown by the colonists in New England.

Although the pink flag with its tree apparently initially represented all islanders, when a modified version of it was adopted by the Native's Society in the late 1830s, it began to be perceived as the symbol of the English Protestant portion of the community. Irish Catholic immigrants responded by flying a green flag bearing the celtic harp. In the 1840s, the division between these two groups was exacerbated each spring as up to 10,000 sealers would converge on St. John's before boarding ships for the sealing grounds. During these times, competition was frequently accompanied by religious animosity and a prominent display of opposing flags.

The Pink, White and Green

In an attempt to defuse the conflicts, a delegation representing the government and leaders of both communities sought the council of Bishop Fleming, who was respected by all. Tradition has it that after pondering the problem, the bishop asked that the pink flag and the green flag of the two factions be brought to him. Then joining them with a white handkerchief, which he said represented the white of peace from the flag of St. Andrew, he handed it to the assembled group and said, "Go in Peace."

The only reason I was asking was because Dan Cook's site only features shields, and not flags... it was merely for my own clarification...

Which is all nice and good but during wwII as has been said in other posts NFLD fought under the Union Jack...no matter what some bunch of shifty eyed politicians used...It was a crown colony of Britain till 1949 much as the Falklands is today. Because of what that implies I dont know if you could set up a seperate state in NFLD at that time.

Again I say... puppet state, and not a sovereign independent nation, though I am sure some people who are making confederate flags and such could think of uses for a NFLD flag in a weird post-civil war scenario... so just relax Pwyll... it is only there for the slight possibility that someone might want it.... that's all...

That being said here are some more new flags....

ok. :D

i used WinRAR because i like it more that WinZIP :D :D
WinRAR sometimes compress (sp?) more than WinZIP, i am not sure about .BMP, but with other files, it does the job very well. :D

i explained more, for the people that don't know how to use it in the game, just for that.

Flags needed

Excellent work guys.
I need some flags for my upcomming mod, and was hoping that you could help me out.
I need the following flags:
Kwangsi
Kwangtung
Inner Mongolia

The first two are the southern chinese warlords in the 36 camp. I have tried to find what, if any, flags these warlords used, but I havent been able to find any. I did however find Kwangsi Air Force insignia, which can be used as a base. For Kwangtung I would be happy with a fantasy flag that looks like something a chinese warlord could have used.
A flag for Inner Mongolia can be found here. I want the one that was used 8 Dec 1937 - 10 Sep 1945. I`m not entirely sure if Inner Mongolia will make it to the final mod, I need to do some testing before I make a decision.
(Btw. near the top of the page is a WWI period chinese flag that will no doubt be needed for a WWI mod)

Can anyone help me out? You will of course be duly mentioned in the credits.
