Hi I updated my version of the ZA firewall somtime in the last 2 weeks. MP was running fine on LAN before (with the old ZA version running).
After the new ZA i have trouble to get MP working. I have sofar ended up having to shut down ZA in order to play HoI on MP.

1. I have allowed the HoI exe everything on ZA
2. I have allowed all the standards
3. My LAN is added with the trusted IP's (the other systems still running the old ZA version and HoI without a flaw)

I have got the feeling there is some little prog/exe related to HoI MP that I still need to allow to make MP possible again with ZA. However the "learning function" of ZA won't help me:

Whenever I start MP and click on "host" HoI stalls in a way - I still see the MP screen but the cursor is frozen. The little XP cursor can bee seen - and moved in a box-like area (the size of the usual ZA Pop-up) - but the ZA pop-up ith otherwise hidden.
That way I don't know which process is blocked by ZA/ what causes ZA and HoI to not run properly...
(Alt-Tabbing doesen't work and no other wy to see or check the desktop either)

Does anyone have a list of the processes that should be enabled on ZA when running HoI on MP?

@Riso
thanks for not answering my question... ;)

I have a NAT (am sitting behind a router/switch with a hardware firewall).
The ZA has worked flawlessly with any setup I had sofar (MP on Inet and LAN no problems) - and there is a real use for the "extra" (software) Firwall as it controlls outgoing traffic and keeps you on top of all the various "phone home" features of XP and other programs.

So back to my original question:
There must be one or two routines that I am missing, that should be enabled in ZA in order to play HoI.
(As mentioned in the first post it's normaly realy easy to find out about them as ZA pops up a little window as soon as an applycation requires acces - due to a (I assume) HoI related grafics glitch I can not see this window properly - and hence not give the neccessary access)

Do yourself a favor, and add HoI.exe explicitly to the ZoneAlarm list of authorised programs. Due to some DirectX issues, the ZoneAlarm popup will not always be visible from inside the game. If that happens, an invisible window will have mouse + keyboard focus, effectively locking you out.

I have done it myself, and works flawlessly. (Needed to do it, because my Alcatel SpeedTouch ADSL router doesn't have TCP port forwarding in the firmware :(, so I am forced to play HoI in PPTP mode)

After some tedious "research" and clicking around in the area where the ZA popup "allow access" button is hidden behind the HoI surface....

I finally found what needs to be "allowed to acces" in order to play HoI through ZA:

1. HoI.exe
2. Windows\explorer.exe
3. Microsoft direct play (..\Windows\system32\dplaysvr.exe)
