So I got a new computer with vista and installed HoI2 DD ARMA, and it works perfectly.. almost, genral speed is up from my old comp, but once every month time slows, almost stops completely and goes very slow for maybe seven or eight days before picking up speed again.

This is still very early in the game so I doubt it's to do with the slowdown that happens in lategames. Any ideas?

Did you install the 1.2 patch?

yes, 1.2 all inclusive

Where did you install it?

In the default folder?

Do you have UAC turned on?

If so i recommend turning it off and reinstalling the game in a different folder like c:\games\hoi2DD

Turning off UAC

Also care to share the contents of a DXDiag with us? Go to start, run and type DXDiag in the box. Click on Save all information ... save file to desktop and post the contents of said file (up until it says Sound Devices) here

OK, UAC is off, and I changed the install folder to C:games by pulling the folder from program files to the new games folder, is this ok? Or should I do a uninstall and then a fresh install? Anyway, the game still slow down. I also tried to optimate Vista for performance but still no luck.

Here's the Dxdiag

Sorry for dubblepost

But I have now tired to uninstall and start from scratch. Doomsday, Arma, latest patch for arma, in folder C:/games, UAC still off, result, still slows down, in my test game as germany it started in feb 1936 and went on into march.

How slow does it go?

What speed are you playing on?

I play on max speed, maybe an in game day in a second, it goes like this for three months maybe, then something happens and the time almosts stops, an in game hour in 3-5 seconds, and it goes on like this for a in game week then it picks up speed and run fine again. (hope that makes sense:) )

Right now I've uninstalled Vista and put in my old Windows XP, but the problem seems to have tagged along, I'm suspecting my Grapichs Card right now, I'm going to take it out and try my old one.

It looks like your Video Card drivers are out of date... try updating those first.

Yeah I noticed too, but no luck even with the new drivers:(
Also I pulled out my new videocard Radeon HD4650, and plugged in my old one, Radeon Sapphire X1900, still no luck though.

I'm thinking of reverting to XP for some tests now..sigh, I just wanted to try my hands on the winterwar...;)

there's something wrong with my system, I have concluded this by noticing the same error on other games, First I tried Farcry2, same problems. Then Battlefield 2142, same problems, and to top it of, dwarf fortress!, same problems. Also my XP test didn't show any improvment...
