HoI2 Doomsday/Arma patching problems.

For a long time, I had played with just patch 1.1. When my friends asked me to play, I downloaded 1.2. When I installed, I froze loading at the initial screen. So I try some stuff, and get a clean install. With the clean install, I can play the game unpatch perfectly.

However, when I try to patch to either 1.1 or 1.2 I get error messages. With 1.1, I get an error saying there is a "DB Error." I'm asked to abort/retry/ignore. All three simply end the game.

When I try to patch to 1.2, I get the same freeze as I did before. When I minimize out and back in after any amount of time, I get an error saying something about some file missing. I can get the exact one later, but for now all I remember is it involved a naval file.

Regardless, it doesn't work when I patch. I'm not sure why 1.1 doesn't work for me now, as it did just two days ago. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

First uninstall Arma, see sticky how to do it.

Then install DD in a new folder, something like c: games. Rename avi folder to avi.old.

Then patch DD with the 1,3 patch, be sure to use the right patch. Start the game to be sure everything works .

Then install ARMA in the doomsday folder. Run the game, see if it works.

Then install 1.2 patch.

Hmm. It doesn't say that method has been verified with Vista..should it still work?

I should patch DD to 1.3 before installing Arma? Hmm...what problems would this cause if I just put Arma over 1.0 DD?
