hoi2 over hamachi

me and a mate have been trying for a couple days to get a game of hoi2:dd/arm going but we're never able to get up and running. valkyrienet and connect via ip both say game host not found, and even when we hooked up to a hamachi server it said the same thing. we both run dsl through a router and have both set our hamachi port to tcp/udp 45000 and the proper ports forwarded. when i ping him over hamachi it works fine, however when he pings me it doesnt work. halp :<

Try disabling your firewall. Only enabling Hamachi doesn't necessary help.

Jump into your DMZ on your router. Google your router name and DMZ.

Make sure you both have DMZ enabled for your router to your computers and if you have a modem and a router a DMZ or static nat from your modem to your router and then a DMZ to your computer also make sure all your firewalls are setup to allow the game to go through

and finally something that I only found out recently which was keeping me and my brother from playing multiplayer is disabling UPnP on your router and/or modem
