Darn. I seem to be plagued with this sort of problem with this pack. Thanks for reporting it though - I get the feeling that most people don't, due to the low number of people who point it out. To fix this, just make a copy of T-INFANTRY C-MIN L-1.bmp in GFX/Palette of your HoI directory, and name the copy T-INFANTRY C-ENG L-1.bmp.

Technically you are right you can use anything you want but the modding community which Paradox supports heavily has allot of un-written rules such as asking permission to use the original authors work etc..... and in the past if people broke those un-written rules Paradox has stepped in.

99% of the time the original author will say ok but in some cases they have said no so out of respect you should always ask. They spent the time creating it and they may have had some specific vision for it and do not want that deviated or distorted in anyway.

I totally understand it is a respect issue, and by no means am I trying to disrespect anyone. If you noticed in my first post I tried to go out of my way to reference all sources and even went as far as to apologize for anyone missed. I am most definitely not trying to take credit for the efforts of many talented people, and again mean no disrespect! I am just trying to put together a compilation of a complete sprite pack that is easy to install and, will cause the minimal amount of trouble for people who may or may not be knowledgeable about the game mechanics.

One credit I should have given but did not, is too the good people in the civ fanatics forum http://www.civfanatics.com/

After finally learning how to convert civ 3 animations to hoi sprites I have found out that 90% of the sprites in this compilation came from civ 3 conversions.

I apologize for the omission, and appreciate all there efforts!

that being said, I have sent out many PM's asking if it was ok to use there work. Some have responded, many have not. Some I might have missed, I haven't kept the best records of where every sprite came from.

I am close to finishing a v2 compilation all I need to do now is fix the German air unit x/y axis, and create the French close air support. Tonight I started testing in TRP. While looking at the tech tree, for air units, I noticed a dramatic difference between vanilla an other mods. Interceptors had six total upgrades, instead of ten, only two being turbo jets. Fighters had seven, only one being turbo jet.

If you would like me to continue working on a compilation for TRP, could you confirm the number of leveled air units in the tech tree.

as I see it ( unless I missed something )

interceptors have

4 turbo prop levels
2 turbo jet levels

fighters have

6 turbo prop levels
1 turbo jet level

close air support have

7 turbo prop levels
no turbo jet levels

bombers have

5 turbo prop levels
2 turbo jet levels

If I am going to attempt to create a sprite compilation for your mod I would like to be sure I have the levels right. If your not interested I will stop now.

chuck feel free to use whatever from my sprite compendium though please credit me if you do, see sig for DL and read me for credits. I'm just glad to see more sprite options for people, there were too few a while back to prompt me burning tonnes of time putting together my own sprite pack... :)

I haven't encountered any, except when I was using TRP, but I also have a fairly high quality computer, so results may vary.

It is complete - the link is in my signature, but I forgot to mention it. Also, yes it is the one that was there before. I found that it had just the right number of sprites to avoid unnecessary lag.
 
A note to anyone who has had trouble installing this: I recently (as in 10 minutes ago) discovered that instead of extracting to C:/Program Files/Paradox Interactive/Armageddon (or /Doomsday), you have to extract to C:/Program Files/Paradox Interactive/Armageddon (or /Doomsday)/gfx. I'll fix this in the next release, but I don't think it is serious enough to warrant a new release all on its own.

I noticed pink boxes appearing around the fieromosca class subs for Italy at the end of 1939, but when I loaded up as Italy I couldn't get the them to show up again. Probably just a weird bug, but thought I'd mention it.
 
Heya, sprites look good - just one bug I found in the movement animation for the British infantry, when they move towards about 10 o clock, the animation is broken. I apologise if this has already been spotted. Cheers!
 
I'm currently working on the HoI2 Sprites Compendium v1.0. This will be the largest update ever of this compendium as it will (provided that he gives his permission) include GENERAL O CONNOR's fantastic work in converting Civ3 sprites. Listing all of his work that will be included would take a very, very long time, so I suggest that you check it out yourselves. Here's a link.

Anyway, provided that I get his permission, most of his work will be included.

For example, already I have found and resolved (in favor of the old sprite) a conflict between GENERAL O CONNOR's and Halibutt's French infantry sprite. I like Halibutt's better, so I opted to keep that one.

I don't know. I never got a response from GENERAL O CONNOR, and I don't quite feel right about releasing his sprites without his permission. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do about this - v.99 is in fact sitting on my computer, packaged and ready to go.

It's the exact same in the doomsday folder and the mod-CORE2 folder, same result wether i play core or doomsday, every sprite is English :wacko:

Hi.

I just reinstalled HOI2 DD and ARM, but have run into trouble using your sprites. I couldn't find my copy so I repurchased the game through Steam, so I was only able to update through patch 1.2 for ARMA.

Clean install, followed by patches, GIP, Scytth & Kristoff`s icons, Osmeath's German icons, Erich's Flags, and finally your sprite compendium. Installed it into the doomsday directory, and made the changes to country.csv.

When playing the game, all the other graphical improvements work fine. However, all the infantry sprites are the exact same for every nation. I *think* it's just the infantry sprites. Pretty sure. Anyway, seems like I have a similar problem to the guy above. However, my infantry are not British. They're a group of 3 guys in apparently green fatigues.

Any chance you can help us out?
