In armageddon, is only compatible with 1.2 (is the last official patch)
In Aod is compatible with all Aod versions (we detected a possible ctd only in aod 1.05 with a italy embargo event, but works with aod 1.02, 1.03 and 1.04)

You can try with arma or with aod, and choice the best option for you
 
Tormentor, according to what I have read so far during these last 48 hours, the answers and/or my suggestions are the following:

A) Play with Armageddon patch 1.2 (1.3 is still a beta version... not officially by Paradox yet).

B) Play with AoD 1.4 (patch 1.5 is still recent and I think there was not enough time in order to go through this combination: AoD 1.5 with IC).
Personally I hope that AoD + IC developers team will work closer from now on, since under my preferences I wish see a winner HoI2 game Arsenal of Democracy with Iron Cross expansion! High potential in sight if both teams work more together. :rolleyes:
But I think this cooperation did not take place yet :(

C) Initially I will play IC with HoI2 Armageddon (explanation is above... :D).

I'm trying AOD 1.4 + Iron Cross and I noticed that i have only 5 tech slots with germany. (i tried 1933 and 1934 scenario) Is this wanted or what? (when i installed IC over Armageddon i could see a setting windows at the end of the installation, but when i installed IC over AOD this didn't happen...)
 
I'm almost 100% sure that the 5 techteams is as designed, else I think they did have to rework the entire tech tree.

Yes, is correct. The Iron Cross change the max slots to 5 (balance game)

And yes, armageddon players have a special utility to change many game options
 
It's WAD however there is a patchs.exe where you can patch the game file for more tech teams. But be warned, in 1933 the USA allready has 10 techteams and will outtechs everybody else by far, including GB, Japan, Germany, etc. I was afraid to be nuked by 43 for example.

In the first version, Iron Cross don't have limit. But this produce a big difference between minor countries and big countries

I played in original aod, and I had the same problem. With USA, I had many techs in 1940
 
However, I think it is possible to reduce the research efficiency of the usa by 30+% from the beginning and raise it by that amount with the outbreak of war (all via event). Then you should be able to allow 10 slots and still have comparable tech level between the different major nations. Maybe I try to write an event for this situation. In addition maybe raise the amount of time a tech takes to finish.
