Holding the line
-A Soviet Union AAR

Hello, and thank you for reading my very first AAR :)

This AAR is written from a pure "overhead" view. It does not go into detail with basicly anything.

1936
At the start of 1936 it was clear that for many years to come Stalin would spend most of his resources increasing the technology and industrial capacity in Russia. The IC plan of 1936 was simply to increase the number of factories in all of the smaller provinces.

1937
The IC plan for mother Russia continued in 1937, increasing the IC in all smaller provinces. Furthermore Stalin moved all of his troops to the Finnish border and prepared for an invasion of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania in case they did not meet Stalin’s territorial demands.

1938
Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania was annexed and became a part of the growing Soviet Union. The IC plan continued for most of Russia.

1939
The final year for the great IC plan, and the year that Poland would be invaded by the axis forces. Trough the Molotov-Ribentrop deal made by Stalin and Hitler Poland would be divided between the to great world powers.

1940
In September 1940 Germany DOW’ed the Soviet Union. Stalin, who had just finished the IC plan for 1939 switched over to mass infantry production. A vast majority of the Russian male population was enlisted to the Red Army. For 1940 the tactic was simple. “Hold the line” Stalin had stated. After securing military access, and a anti-aggression pact with Japan, The elite Russian army located in east Asia began their long march home to Leningrad.

1941
Slowly, Stalin ordered a Russian counter-attack in the northern provinces in Poland. One province at a time the Soviet army advanced towards their final destination. Berlin… When the troops from Asia returned, they immediately launched their attack on Finland. After only 6 months, the entire country of Finland was conquered and the eastern front was turning towards Soviet dominance. In the west, Germany had still not conquered France and was only just hanging on to Paris. The Netherlands and Belgium was still neutral. A Small garrison was stationed at Finland to make sure no German invasion could come trough Norway.

1942
In 1942 the big breakthrough came, when General Rokosovsky, along with 20 motorised divisions launched a giant counter-attack along the northern provinces, almost reaching Berlin, only stopping to receive reinforcements. While Germany was occupied elsewhere, Italy joined forces with the Comiterns and flanked the German forces. Unable to hold the lines, the German forces where overrun on all fronts. By mid 1942 they had lost all of France, half of Poland, and had only managed to conquer a few northern Italian provinces. By late 1942 the German advance had come to a complete halt and the Red Army were at the outskirts of Berlin.

1943
The first signs of a nuclear bomb began to show at Moscow, as the Soviet nuclear research advanced rapidly. Meanwhile the Soviet forces quickly conquered Berlin, Hamburg and Halle. After these giant battles, Germany had but a few forces spread out over the fronts. However despite this, Germany managed to launch a Panzer counter-attack under command of General Erwin Rommel towards Berlin witch was conquered the 5th of May. The Soviet advance however, continued to the south, along the Italian border. Italy had now been completely overrun. On the 28th of October 1943, the world was shocked, as Stalin ordered the nuclear attack on Berlin. Erwin Rommel’s 28 Infantry and Panzer divisions was destroyed, along with the city of Berlin. The German forces where now spread out over Italy and the southern German provinces.

1944
In a matter of months the rest of Germany and Italy would be conquered. It was a great celebration when the Russian Red Army met the French General DeGaulle, when the eastern and western front met, after the victory in Salzburg. The last German stronghold was in western Sicily, where General Von Rundstedt insisted on defending the last German stronghold. An Allied expeditionary force would land on the east of Sicily, securing the island and making sure that no forces could get off the Island. The 9th of July, 1944, the last battle that would define defeat for Germany came. It only lasted 4 days and that was that. The Axis forces had been completely destroyed. Germany was annexed by The Soviet Union as they moved their at tension towards Japan and Asia.

1945
In 1945 the United States of America joined forces with the Soviet Union. This meant war between Japan and the USSR. In a few months, Korea was liberated and the USSR installed a puppet regime state there. The USA had completely annihilated the Japanese navy and their forces where spread out all over the pacific. Slowly, one island at a time the Japanese forces were removed. The mainland of Japan would be conquered trough a US invasion in the east of Tokyo and a Soviet landing in Kagoshima, on the southwest corner of Japan. Along with this, China invaded Japan’s eastern Asian provinces and liberated Beijing and the rest of occupied China.

1946
In 1946 the war was over. It would last 7 years, claim millions of life’s and completely destroy Germany, Poland, Finland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Japan, the Philippines and Norway. The new superpowers of the world now consisted of the USSR and the USA. With ICBM and Ballistic Missiles containing nuclear warheads, capable of striking anywhere in the world, the Allied powers where greatly indangered by the Comitern. However as Stalin was growing old, his hunger for power had decreased.

Well, that was my Soviet AAR, thank you for reading :)
