Information

I have disabled all mods

Yes

Required

Summary

Hospitals not accepting patients even though they're open

Expected Result

I expected hospitals to receive sick citizens, show patients inside, and dispatch ambulances.

Actual Result

the hospitals are built, powered, and connected to roads, but they have zero patients and do not send ambulances. Citizens complain about healthcare.

Steps to reproduce

- Reinstalled the game completely, - Deleted all mods and tested on a clean map, - Removed all user data and registry entries, - Tested on multiple new maps and cities, - Verified that electricity, roads, and funding are correct.

Platform

Steam

Game Version

1.19.2-3f

Optional

Description

NUnfortunately, I deleted the original city where the issue started because I got frustrated.
However, the attached save is from a new city where the exact same problem occurs again — hospitals are not accepting patients despite being open and fully functional.
I confirmed that the issue persists and will update the report if I discover anything new.
I also left a screenshot of what it looks like

You may not have any issue. The game will use the smaller clinics first. if too busy, then the hospital will kick in at some unknown point to me, and they will eventually collect the sick people.

I'll try the saved game and see if I notice anything. but likely, this is normal behavior.

After loading your saved game, you only have 600population. you only have one clinic, but you should have bought a school instead. schools teach your cims to be clean, so they won't get sick much.

But you really want to focus on education. you should be plopping mainly schools early game as you have a young new city.

but CS1 has no sickness mechanic. Your cims get sick by pollution spreading to residential zones.

The same with cemeteries. The cims that are moving in are almost all young, so you won't need cemeteries for a few decades. (Several game years)

Education is best for growing residential to grow more population.

Feel free to post here for more advice. also check YouTube for some Cities Skylines tutorials for different parts of the game.

Also, you posted a different city. or an older city, as there is only 600 population, but your screenshot shows a population of over 25,000.

Maybe update the save on the forums and maybe I can see your issue better, as 600 population is very empty and no problems.

Everything is working as intended. I see nothing wrong.

I play at x3 speed to test, and I see ambulances coming out of clinics all of the time.

Maybe you play at x1 speed, which is significantly slower (3 times slower).

Your city seems healthy, which is normal for a young and growing city.

If you want to see the more busy areas of the city, try looking at the pollution overlay map and see where is pollution near residential (Green zones) and plop a clinic and you should see ambulances coming out fairly quickly.

But show the noise pollution overlay map (Ear Muffs) and look for a metro or heavy red intersections.

FYI, I was watching the clinic neat the metro station, I then connected the two metro stations with underground tracks then I made a line to move cims back and forth on the line. Now the upper clinic gets a lot of traffic.

However, traditionally Metro will be placed in or around commerce, so they can move shoppers/tourists around. They work more efficient this way, anyway.

Let me know how it works now.
