if you dont care for the war of commonwealth and axis then why don't you get an event of "Europes changing" with option a: "why should we care for british? their alliance isn't as powerful and resource rich as earlier, lets transfer our trades to the Third Reich!"?

or now with ussr defeated, they undergo reforms, and ask for friendship in exchange for resources? like with some later event become your allies as radical lefts and you become the leader of commintern?

The people aren't *that* disinterested in the world war. Japan was in with Germany, just not officially, remember. As soon as the Pacific war ended, the local war reopened on the Southern Continent. Thus, local issues, again.

Also: The surprise announcement of taking Iceland and Greenland was very Allied Side worthy, but I have so many trades with Germany that I'm like +40 with them

I'd code an actual event, but too much coding destablizes the save (and I'm already having issues getting events to work, period...) I could use that event pack more, but I tend to use it with actual events - this isn't something I can f12 in.

Mind you, if I could get NWO to work with this game then we'd see reforms! :p

You're Social Democrat? So no dictator Norman Thomas? :(

Ah well, I'll vote for him in 1948.

Its President Norman Thomas now! XD

The situation in early 1948 wasn’t much more different than earlier…

27-1.png

27-2.png

So the American Nation decided to start off the year with a bang…

27-3.png

27-4.png

Meanwhile, in Tibet…

The country of Chile was annexed on April 14th, 1948

27-5.png

27-6.png

Meanwhile, in Sinkiang…

Seeing the impending doom and destruction, Argentina decided to join our alliance in exchange for the Railroad to be built to its southernmost island – Tierra del Fuego – without any military provocation. Immediately, the build orders were sent out – The South American addition to the Roosevelt Railroad was well underway.

In late August, the Philippines had at last seen the return of most of their homeland from partisans, led by McArthur and his merry band of militiamen. It is said that he defeated the partisans using simply his charming looks.

27-8.png

Then of course, came the time… time for something completely the same.

27-9.png

In hot water over the war in the Southern Americas, Thomas rallied behind the notion of stepping down and letting Dewey be the next president. People, oblivious to the true scheming, went for Truman instead. The night of election night was one of very dangerous thunderstorms all across the nation…

Truman indeed won and promised to keep the Country out of any more American-based wars. It was a grand success, not only because the USA would not be involved in any more strictly “American” war but also because there was no need to go to war in the Southern Americas any longer… The people ate it up like pie…

Of course not many are allowed to go into the private presidential headquarters, where Truman would retire to most evenings… there he read the same, now smudged, red envelope left to him by the previous president…

I can forgive you for leaving me Thomas, since you left full Central Planning for our lovely railroads!

After several weeks of rumors and hushed discussion, and days of N>=0 errors, the people of America (with Italics) sought to welcome the new president graciously.

The people celebrated the inauguration by becoming a more open society.

Meanwhile, Germany continued their offensive, seemingly getting past the initial desert sand dunes.

By Late February, the first act of President Truman, termed the “Economic Recovery, Part 2” Act, came into effect. Unemployment dropped to 0% -- everyone who wanted a job was given one, repairing the roads and rails that were still damaged from the Civil War II.

The very first line of Synthetic Oil and Material Plants, along with Nuclear Power plants, were planned in Chicago in Early March.

By July 4th, 1949, the approval rating was an astonishing 99.9% (the sole dissenter seemingly naming themselves “SovietAmerika” for some reason) as people shifted from producing tar and rubber and started producing plastic and ammunition.

28-2.png

In under 6 months, the Truman Administration had somehow nearly tripled the industrial capacity of the country – more so than even the Germans as they continued to advance into Africa..

28-3.png
By Early October, the Nuclear Power Plants were in place in Chicago, and the country was officially back onto its feet as the last industrial repairs were made to several factories and aircraft carriers. The country was now fully modernizing its antiquated army – something that many people allowed because of the massive influx of work that it had provided for the masses.

A short update since nothing really happened, and I'm still getting one n>=0 error since my update to 1.5 Expect something after Thursday as I need to study for my exam.

Hi Ma, I just became famous in an AAR! :D

Wouldn't want to be the sole dissenter in America, I wouldn't.

Also, that upgrade demand scares me.

It's a democratic country, I doubt they mind.

Once again, the choice was clear in 1950 – become a more open society. In the first time since the late 30’s, Americans would find themselves satisfied with their lives, travelling down the railway lines in the USA and making excursions into the lands which were building the grand rails. South America reported a record high of tourists and visitors – even people from as far as Australia and China came to see what the hubbub was all about. Of course, the government made sure to keep track of where the information was heading to…

Among the congressional acts of the new year were two very important acts:
1) To improve relations with all countries of the Americas, an influential campaign was begun, hoping to bring in allies
2) A paperclipped article to the above: Increase intelligence spending to $50 a day, roughly a third of the CIA funding. The spies were focused on Britain, Germany, and Nationalist China…

In February of that year, two very important discoveries were made – ones that would change the very face of the earth itself.

29-2.png

The Improved Relations and Finding Allies for RailRoad Act saw its first fruits of labor in late March, when Paraguay joined the alliance.
29-3.png
By late May, the conglomerate of nations was completed
29-4.png
In June, the money used to improve relations was delegated to the intelligence spending, increasing it by 50%

The first line of the Roosevelt Railroad Mk I would open on July 4th, 1950. In celebration, the very first train carried President Truman and a select few Americans down from the northern tip of Alaska to the Southern tip of Argentina, and back to Washington DC. The trip was completed over 2 weeks of movement (and roughly 3 days of stops). The cheers of the people were enormous. The industrialized nation would see the first train as a beacon for hope for the rest of the world – no longer would they have to be oppressed, bombed, and drive cars. They could now see the light that was railroads.

Soon afterwards, the sentiment of the country showed itself…
29-5.png

The mobilization for war begins.
Evils included cars
29-6.png
Meanwhile Haiti left the alliance, grumbling something about “our Dear Leader doesn’t like you”.

After more Open Society, the years intelligence reports were filed, and intelligence spending increased to 100, the highest it would remain during the upcoming war.

Will be another few months before any major battles - I need those airplanes if I want any hope of actually combating a country with an airforce or any change of staving off German breakthrough (though, that said, it seems that most of the German forces are in their homeland and that my experienced troops should be a boon against the Germans and the Chinese. I'm not sure where I'll strike next in the name of RailRoad, but the North-South section is done with its first line! :p :D

I love the nice new railroads; I bet the Germans and British envy it!
