So, just to be clear on this: I don't have the original model.
I want to add a thumb and a tooltip to a prop that I downloaded from the Steam Workshop.

The regular way doesn't work for me, because if the crp-file doesn't have an icon or tooltip, I don't see the folder icon with which I usually add these.

Also, the long way of reimporting a ghost-model doesn't work, because I have no access to the prop once the ghost model has been loaded.

So, does anyone know how to pull this off?

Subscribe, Load Asset, Save with new tooltip and thumb images. Done.

If it's an older asset before 1.1 update you will need a mod called sprite changer to make a new asset first, apply thumb and tooltip image then hit copy button. Then load old asset and click paste. Then you can save. Done.

That's all :)

hmmm...this is weird. I was able to change the prop with help of the sprite changer, but the game doesn't allow me to upload the prop...any ideas on that?

The image file too big on your preview image? that can be a cause.

I don't think so...my thumbs are 109x100 (7,04kb), my tooltip is 492x147 (157kb), the snapshot is 644x340 (502kb), as is common for them. Plus, they work well with the model from which I imported them (that I can upload).
Could it be that the original workshop number of the item is saved somewhere in the crp-file of the prop and prevents me from uploading it? (Which would still be weird because that's not the case for non-prop-assets) I am assuming this because when I look up the changed prop (saved under a different filename & different title), I can still click on the icon to look it up on the workshop, and upon clicking, I am referred to the original prop that doesn't have the icon.
