How come my EU wont run without the disk?

I just got a new computer and I installed the game, but it will not let me play without the disk. On my old computer I can still play without the disk, what am I doing wrong? Thankw.

Have you patched the game...?
I dont know if it's just a fluke, but Paradox gamed seem to run withouth the disk after you patch the game.
