The short version? There was was a General's daughter..........

Longer version? I'm the nephew of Frederick Steiner. May have heard of him. Bit of a big deal in the Commonwealth, but generally not on the holiday card list on Tharkad, if you catch the drift.

Well, me, being his nephew, and idolizing his exploits growing up, that didn't leave me as the most popular bloke named Steiner, either. But about a year after I enrolled into Sanglamore, the Archon made that Treaty with Prince Davion. Now because my loyalty was not really questioned, but I was on the "bad side" of the family tree... and 114th from the Throne, give or take, it did make me an ideal candidate to be in the first batch of Lyrans accepted into the NAIS in the first exchange program. "Noble" enough to be good for the PR factor, but not so noble that I couldn't be readily disowned if I screwed things up. Or maybe that should have been WHEN I screwed things up?

Anyhow, senior year, met the most beautiful brunette you could imagine, and being young, dumb and full of [redacted], things went exactly how you might expect. Up until "Mommy" came home in the middle of our somewhat debauched romp...... aka Major General Donna Iona. Commander of my Cadet Cadre.

In my defense, her daughter WAS 18.... but one kangaroo court later, I was dishonorably dismissed from the NAIS for violations of their Honor Code.

Having nothing to look forward to in the Commonwealth, except constant reminders of the embarrassment I caused the family... I took my CN9-A Centurion, and grabbed a jumpship headed out to the Periphery. After a couple stints with some also-rans like Wilson's Hussars, I got together 3 other Mechwarriors of like mindset, and teamed up with a dropship captain in need of protection from some loan sharks... and am headed toward the Arugula Coalition, some apparently newly opened market that is supposed to be a hotbed of opportunity for some up and comers like "Eddie" (my mech) and myself.

Maybe I'll see you chummers dirtside. Whether ti's through some crosshairs or not, I reckon is up to fortune to decide.

Have you guys seen this?

Not to alarm anyone, but Steiner Noble and Kurita Noble aren't on that chart. Could be an oversight on the part of the maker, could be they weren't implemented at that point in the beta.

Edit: Derp Derp. They were talking about procedurally generated hirable mechwarrior. No reason to think there aren't a wider array of backgrounds for players. Disregard.
