I have just started playing the game, but I have not managed to find out how to make an army board a ship so I can send it exploring.
Grateful for help.

BTW, you don't need an army in your ship to explore, you only need an explorer (with a sextant symbol next to his name) to lead the fleet

im still confused on this topic. I dont know how to enter a boat I tried everything. I tried putting my army on the boat and it didnt work.

Then click on the link in Huszics post and read the FAQ. The answer is right there at No1.

The game is confusing to get the hang of because it uses right-click for a lot of actions that (at least, in the games I`ve played) are normally done with left-clicks. Left clicking selects an army/navy, right-clicking gives them a movement order.

If you're doing all the clicking right, but the army won't move, it's probably too big for the fleet. Hover the mouse over the fleet to see some numbers, something like

3/4/2
0 of 11

In this case, a fleet of three warships, four galleys and two transports is currently transporting 0 of a maximum of 11 army units. You can see how many units your army takes up by selecting it and hovering over the balance icon on the info screen. Naval commanders will refuse all orders to take on board enough men to overload and sink their ships. :D
