I cant find it. Any instructions for how to do it? My game is patched, and i have a problem with it crashing when i try and play, because it crashes to desktop about 1/5 of the way loading. Ive tried the other things normally suggested.

It is located in the main HOI2 folder.
I cannot tell you the exact location of that since I don't know where you installed the game to.

Ok, thanks i did it, but i still have the error when trying to play a scenario, it crashes once the loading bar gets to churchills legs, so about a quarter of te way through. I did a directx diag and it was perfect, did the file naming trick, did the colour settings, i have a new video card, did everything ive seen suggested, and it dont work. Any other advice?

1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
4) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.
So you have Done step one now try the rest. I take it you have installed the patch as well right?

Ive done 1,2,3 already, and i dont understand what you mean by 4. Could you explain how to do it please?

Well the windows update you can do automatically, check your start menu for the link.
For the video and audio card, you need to log on to the manufacter's site and look for the latest driver, download it and install it.
