I give up.

I have one dome that has several unemployed and I have another dome that needs workers. The problem is I cannot find a way to find the unemployed workers.

There is not filter for unemployed
I tried clicking on the apartment and manually searching through each individual but it does not even give you that info... it just tells you their specialization.

Am I missing something? Again, colonist management in this game is its downfall.

I find trying to the colony overview doesn't work. Hopefully it does for you because its the easiest way. But if it doesn't... If you manually select one of the colonists walking around the dome, then using the arrows in the info panel that pops up, scroll through the colonists. Once you find the unemployed you can take immediate action through the same info panel.

unemployed colonists have a dollar sign over their heads.

other than that:

select the dome, press right trigger to bring up the info panel. move one to the right "filter by traits" and filter out children and seniors and or any other criteria. press x to apply the filter then right trigger to access the panel with the colonists meeting those criteria. their age/spec/res/work as well as other traits will be displayed. buttons are also there to assign new residences and work places. the colonists will move if they're able to.
