ok i searched for .rome and it found it which to me is weird because it should have been able to find it under the file name thank you all btw when i check its location property it says c:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis - Rome\save games so we were close when searching

Okay, now once you get there spudnut8t there should be a folder named
"save games". Go into that folder and your saved games should be in there.
Like I said before, if it is blank you need to click on the button for
Compatibility Files. Then your files should suddenly appear on screen. At least,
that's what worked for me.

two more things one:now my computer can find it when i search for the save games name and second:appdata still doesnt show up under my name but oh well i can fix that later i guess(maybe lol) i dont know if this will be useful to other vista users so may want to put as a sticky forum

Which is pretty much where I told you it would be back in post #6:
If you installed Rome into the suggested default, Vista has redirected them to c:\users\[name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\save games, where [name] is your user name in Vista.
except I got the name of the actual Rome directory wrong ... but you said you couldn't even find the AppData dir ? In any case glad you finally found it.
