How do you go about changing the names of provinces, dutchies and kingdoms in the game? I want to change some of them to make the titles to make them sound more historical. I tried changing the names in the csv files but they crashed the game. Are they hardcoded? Or which files should I change to make sure they're ALL in line?

Thanks,
Richmond

To change the names of duchies and kingdoms, edit world_names.csv (config folder). They are near the middle of the file. Make sure you don't touch the four-letter tags.

To change the names of provinces, edit province.csv (db folder). It will change the name by which the province is referred to, not the name on the graphic map.

No you need to change the 'province_names.csv', the name in 'province.csv', though the same, are not the ones that display in the game.

some questions are better left unasked.

it is easier to mess with a name only file when localising than to mess with a file containing universal data as well.

So what's the purpose of the names in province.csv then?

Your guess is a good as mine. I do not know. I dont know why the made this double thing, but as far as I can see, the name colom in province.csv is not used for anything.

Correct..the name column in the Province.csv is not used in the game AFAIK. The same goes also for the Culture column.
