How do you get generals???

How do you get generals and other high ranking officers.
The only officers i can get are the standard colonels and commodores.

Second, i saw in one of the other threads that explorers, conquistadors and Center of trades are random. Or do you have to obtain certain level of technologie to get them.

I have no idee so can someone just explain this to me

If you have leaders, they'll usually show up at specified dates.


Or they're random, one or the other.

Leaders are 'historical'- that means that they will appear the same time they did historically. Like Spain gets Colomb early in the game, Frederick (king of Prussia and a good leader) will appear in beginning of 18th century etc.

If you want to know when your leaders appear, check the /Db/leaders/historicalLeaders.xls file on your EU directory.

Sometimes random conquisatdores and explorers appear, but they are rare.
