How does tunes work?

Hi

I am in the following situation:

Since there are no rare metals on the platau wehre my base is I decided to expend south where are rare metal deposit. I thought no problem, just build a tunel down there. However, no drones are moving down in order to build stuff. I though that tunels would act as extension of drone range? It seems that this is not true? How do you expand above / below ridges?

You use rovers, I believe? At least that what I did.

I send rover down. But how do you get down materials needed for construction?

Hmmm. Now, when you say it... I had shuttles when I went to my plateau, so it was easy. I didn't try to do it through just drones.
But, anyway - transports?

Anyway: you use rovers and transports, alternatively shuttles.
