I run a tunnel search twice a week, now, and they have tunnels going out 10-12 squares within three days. I keep filling them in. Then the next tunnel search or shakedown brings more comedically long tunnels. I set up cameras in the areas I don't want them to be in, and checkpoints going into the cell blocks to take their tools away. Even then, shakedowns are finding tools including pickaxes? The checkpoints are also walled off within the entryway so people can't just walk around them. The only thing outside of cells past the checkpoints are a staff room with an armory attached behind it, and the shower room. Infirmary, classrooms, and workshop are all outside the secure area.

Do you have a reception? I think that's what it's called. In the reception, prisoners will be strip searched so that new inmates cannot smuggle things in.
Yes, there's a reception with metal detectors on both doors leading to the street, both doors heading into the prison complex, and both doors into holding. As well as security checkpoints heading into (and out of) the cell blocks, with no way around them. All I can imagine, is my workmen are bringing pickaxes to the prisoners to give themselves a little job security. I guess it beats running in circles and jumping in place in the storage area?

Yeah, it's possible. I assume you also have scanner machines in the storage and delivery rooms?
No. Why would I need scanner machined in place, with metal detectors at all the doors and checkpoints going into the cell blocks? I guess the prisoners can walk pretty calmly with a pickaxe shoved up their backsides?
