Certainly not like Vanilla... It better not be, as it set us back two years revamping it. It's a TRP inspired AI revamp, balanced to render a more or less historical result for a hands-off game on N/N level. Which means a human player should still be able to beat it on N/N, but you can opt to increase the playing level if you want a real challenge.

Hi Panzergenerals,

The AI has been extensively worked on for 0.40 The developers spent countless hours tweaking the settings to make a more challenging AI for the player. The system uses the extended battle for land combat, and the AI uses it's air and naval assets quite well. Having said that, there are limitations to the HOI2 engine that simply cannot be worked around. If you play an extremely ahistoric game then the AI will probably have trouble reacting to your moves. The major countries have quite a large amount of AI switches to change to depending on the situation, so you should see much better results than vanilla. Although CORE is designed for normal difficulty, if you want a really hard challenge I suggest you play on Very Hard to compensate for some of the AIs shortcomings.

I also suggest saving and reloading every 6 months or so before the war in Europe starts, and then every month after that. This helps to reset the garrison AI and rebase any air and sea units.

Hope this helps.

Ok thanks. Gonna try this mod too.

/Off language topic: is er ook een nederlandse versie van Core?

/on Language: Is there also a dutch version of core?

No, there isn't a Dutch version of CORE. Having said that, there's plenty of Dutch imagery within CORE. ;)

Hi Hagar and devs I have a question too. I´m giving HoI 2 and your mod a try after 2 years without playing the game, liking it so far. My question.

Playing as Germany I´ve invested in diplo heavy strategy forfeiting spies, so I could influence Turkey and Persia a lot and get them to join the Axis. The war begun on 1939 as usual, and i don´t see a large allied presence in the area even by january 1940.... meaning I could probably conquer Egypt and India if I really really wanted. Is the CORE AI able to handle that 2 front situation, or I should at most leace Turkey and Persia to handle that front?

Pfew... I reckon one of the Betas (or Devs who were still Betas during 0.4.0 development) might be able to answer that one... I have been busy getting the backlog of the graphics covered, rather than closely observing AI behaviour...

Just do get you updated... things are not going well. For them lol. If I reloaded my game after Vichy France (whic I got by 20 of June) and sent 9 divisions to each front (Turkey-Palestine and Persia-India), I would probably steamrolled both. India would probably be harder sincethey have more divs. As it is now(dec 1940) I will probably liberate Egypt in 1-2 months, India probably more but only because I haven´t launched a large offensive.

BTW if I conquer India will I get some nice events? :p
