That's the stuff - we'll clearly need many, many new unit names. I'm sure the World War I databook will be useful in showing the order in which divisions were put together, ships were built and squadrons formed. Obviously concentrate on the majors and most of the other countries can have the standard '1st Infantry Division' and so on in their list.

Concerning the territorial claims, is there any way that coutries can be made to not continually make their claims and continually succeeding? I'm thinking in particular of Japan caving into Russia nearly everytime, and Hejaz disappearing before the war starts. If not, it might be wise to just remove the territorial claims that bring about the said situations. Until then, I'll put the claims in the progress page anyway.

I don't suppose your World War one Databook happens to have GDP numbers of the major powers?

The only thing I found so far, after much looking, is a break down of the Austro-Hungarian empire and its economy. It does compare and list the "Indices of GDP per capita in Europe and the United States in 1910" where the US is given a base of 100.

Then it goes on to list:
UK = 80.6
Belgium = 65.7
Netherlands = 62.9
France = 49.2
Germany = 49.3
Switzerland = 58.7
Denmark = 63.0
Finland = 32.9
Swedem = 48.9
Italy = 40.3
Portugal = 22.2
Spain = 41.4
Bulgaria = 20.5
Russia = 26.2
Austria = 47.4
Romania = 23.3
Serbia & Montenegro = 24.9

This is in 1980 international dollars (billion $US)

While I think some of these numbers are suspect (namely France and Germany being too low, and Serbia being larger than Russia, I do not think that is right.) After several attempts to find the US GDP in 1910 to verify the number given, I came up empty.

So this is what I suggest that Russia's current IC's be cut a third (including their Polish territories). China's industry should be also cut by a third, and also be based mostly in the Eastern coast provinces with one or two provinces in the center and west with an IC of one in each (allowing the player/computer to do some expanding of IC's).

Unless someone else can actually come up with the numbers or something better.

I found a few statistics here which might help. In particular, share of world industrial production in 1913:

USA 32%
Germany 15%
Britain 14%
Russia 8%
France 6%
Canada 1%
Rest of Europe 14%
Rest of the World 10%

(of course, just as in 1939, most of that US production was going into consumer goods, not military munitions)

Yeah I came across numbers similiar to that a while ago, but since we don't know what the world's total GDP was at the time (or at least a close approximation), not to mention the omission of much of the world, it kind of makes it hard to distribute IC's out to countries.
