When I start the game up it says the latest game update is 1.01 however it says my current version is ?.?.? and the update button is greyed out? how am i Ment to download this?

You have to contact the page you bought the game from. As every retailer wants to handle patches on their own and differently it is out of our control.
Bought the game from steam :/ and they don't release patches for an untold amount of time... any way I can email someone and they will send the patch? or at least a link to the beta? I know this sounds pretty silly but I really want 1.01 :/
Can I suggest that DH can learn from the AoD experience here? There was great angst on the AoD boards over delays in the release of patches by the different suppliers - and to the different suppliers as it turned out. They resolved the issue by posting a downloadable patch on their board while still distributing the 'formal' patch via the commercial outlets. I'd definitely recommend that system here, if just to short-circuit the ill-feeling created created by wildly different delivery dates.
I would totally agree, it gets really agitating when some people have the patch and others don't lol as its pointless to play 1.00 if 1.01 is going to come out at a random time then you can't load your 1.00 games
Feel free to contact pardox about that, they are prohibiting us from doing exactly that.
I figured as much - the AoD team encountered the same problem. But they did manage to work their way around it, so maybe if you had a quiet word with them you could find out what levers need to be pulled to make it happen.
