How to assign researchers to ships?

I tried to search and see if this question had been asked before, but I couldn't find anything.
I can't for my life figure out how to assign my newly bought scientist to my science ship.

When I go to my leaders' screen she is there available, but I can't pick the ship when I go into her options.
And when I select the ship I just see that I don't have an assigned leader.

I'm at a loss here. Please help me.

Never mind.. I was quicker then the tutorial.. still really not intuative..
