I saw that I needed the Blender program to crest mods as I’d at the least like to make my logo a mission logo in game and possibly create custom sponcer as well. How is the easiest way to go about doing this?

You don't need Blender to make logos, all you need is your logo in PNG format.

I have figured that out! I found the docs in the modding folder!!! Glad that Paradox has provided docs to help with modding! After I finish my video exports today I plan to get to work on mission logo and perhaps my own mission sponsor! Want to restart my series with some personalization! :)

I'm having trouble with the import part. When I click the button, nothing happens as far as I can tell. When I try to find the *.tga file, it is not in the mod folder. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I had the same issue, there is a button on the decal area that you have to hit export or something on after selecting your PNG. Not at my computer right now so can’t give exact. Hope figure it out! Mission logo creating is actually super easy!!! For any help there is docs in a doc folder inside the modding folder in the game folder!

I can do step by step for you but I need someone to help me with regards to Preview image.

When ever I create a Logo the preview in the new game set up Colony Logo select never works. Ziegenbagel you able to help?

Right, I've figured it out. It's best done in windowed mode.

Open game and from the main menu follow these steps. I did all of the following and it worked for me.

1. Click Mod Editor
2. Click ok in game so it will allow you to land the rocket
3. Click on or Alt-Tab to the new program that's opened "Mods Editor"
4. Click the blank page with a plus on it called "New Mod"
5. Enter the Mod Title
6. Double click the newly created mod so it opens
7. Click New Item tab and then New Decal
8. Give it a Name at the top, comment is optional
7. Give it an entity name, this is private to you and can't contain spaces or special characters
8. Give it a Display name
9. Next to Image is a blank box, three dots and then an Import button. Click the three dots and a browse window will open and this is where you search for you .PNG file
10. Once located file click open so that the file location appears in the box and then click Import.
11. Wait a few moments then click New Item tab and then New MissionLogo
12. Fill in the details manually for Name, ignore the drop down arrow Comment is optional and ignore copy from
13. In General give it an Entity Name again
14. In Decal Mod entry, click the drop down and select the decal you've just created
15. UI File: Click the button that says UI and then select the .tga file in the location and press open.

You may get a message saying under the box saying "File does not exist" ignore this.

16. Click in the UI box where the file name is and copy the file location as it is right there
17. Add in your Display Name and any Mod filters such as logo, decal etc
18. On the left had side of the editor click on the parent top option "Mod 'your file name here'
19. in Preview image box paste in the file location you copied from previous screen

You may get a message again saying "File does not exist" ignore this.

20. Add in a description and any tags etc

Press save and you should have just created a Logo.

you can test it by clicking on the MissionLogo part on the left hand side and then pressing the test button (looks like a play button) This will then create a Drone Hub in the Mod Editor test game that starts with your logo on it.

You can then upload to Steam or just keep for yourself.

Wait a few moments

So this is what I was doing wrong... My impatient ass was immediately creating the MissionLogo which (I think) was interrupting the import process. This time around I clicked the Import button and walked away to do something else. When I got back, everything worked perfectly.

Thanks everyone for the help; it is much appreciated.

,
Yeah, I can’t manage to get a preview imagine to work!

Follow my above steps for preview and it should work.

Alternatively paste in the full file location of the original PNG file for the image and that should work. You can't browse for it, must copy and paste
