II had problems with mods, issues so bad the launcher crashed.

I unsubscribed from ALL mods and purged the mod files. (of old stuff gong back to 3.0 not going to lie)

Now there's a playset in the launcher that crashes the launcher whenever I try to do anything with it. Not launching the game wth it, just selecting it in the launcher causes THE LAUNCHER to crash. How do I purge it from my system?

I know how to theoretcally delete a mod list using the launcher but can't do that.

On the launcher playlist screen, I added a mod that didn't exist (by the new mods detected, add now? prompt); whenever I just clicked on the playlist it would crash and reload. Here's what worked for me: In the playsets_ backup folder...documents/paradox interactive/stellaris/playsets_backup folder; I had to open each file in notepad++ and find the name of the playlist to find the correct file, then I deleted it. When I opened the launcher I was able to click on the paylist and I was able to delete/remove all the mods then delete the playlist. Hope this helps.

Thanks

Thanks for posting on my reddit question as well.

I found the stellaris folder
C:\Users\barac\OneDrive\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris

The folder you are referecing doesn't seem to exist. So I'm at a loss here. Maybe someone else will know what's up.

Please try the following:

  • unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
  • delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mod/
  • delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mods_registry.json (if present)
  • delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
  • run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
  • subscribe to a few mods

  • run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

This cleared out the bad playlist that was causing issues thank you very much.

  • launcher-v2.sqlite (if present) (WAS PRESENT)
  • mods_registry.json (if present) (WAS NOT PRESENT)

In case this helps.
