In my france Iron Man playthrough I followed most of the french missions, conquered burgundy and get the sucession wars in italy and spain. Now I want to push into germany and disband the HRE. I never actually did this in my 200 hours playtime. My question is how can I do it the fast way because after that I could subjugate poland. I defeated the elector Trier at my borders but for some reason cant force vassalization on them, instead I took 2 provinces from them. So if I cant vassalize the electors how am I supossed to take their ,,Independent" status and dismantle HRE?

you must either have the electors as an ally or control their capitals. (of all electors + emperor) so just wait until the truce is over, try then to get all electors+ HREmperor in (doesnt have the same) a war, control their captials at the same time, epic win

Honestly, I think hardest part of Dismantling the HRE is not the war it's allying or getting into a war with all the non-ally electors (+Emperor) at once.

Often the electors hate each other or Austria or both making it nearly impossible. For example, Saxony hates Austria and Brandenburg and allies with neither. You can fight Austria and ally Brandenburg, but Saxony won't get involved and you can't declare two wars against the HRE at a time. Sometimes you might get lucky and Saxony (in my example) would defend some non-HRE country allowing you to take their capital, but often the inside HRE nations have no outside the HRE allies, particularly later in the game when the only small nations in Europe are inside the HRE.

My most successful dismantlings have been by Poland and immediately after the Lithuanian PU/Moldovian March events.
