How to edit who controls what territory

I'm trying to edit what territory Germany controls in the 1941 scenario (in a basic attempt to make a 1942 one) and when I even tried changing one province (from the USSR to Germany, the scenario didn't fully load up! The line went about 70% of the way there then just stopped with no error messages!

I'm doing these edits through the AoD/ scenarios/ 1941 folder, editing the ger_41.inc and sov_41.inc. Are there other files I need to edit? I deleted the entire Red Army/ Navy and Airforce beforehand.

You have to remove it from the list of SOV controlled provs and add it to the list of GER controlled provs, do not change the own or national setting for this prov. Make sure you add proper spaces between province ID and closing brackets.
Do you use notepad++ to edit these files ?

What is notepadd++? I use normal notepad. And yes I did remove them from the SOV controlled provs and gave them to Germany, the errors came up for when I did something wrong, but when I corrected what I did, no errors came up but the scenario just stopped loading 70% of the way in.

Please set (programming) language to C or C++. The colors are an easy way to separate comments from function blocks.
