This feels like a really stupid question, but when I press the update button on the launcher I'm just taken here.

I have problems with Steam updating it. On the launcher said my current version is ??? and that the latest version is 1.01. However the update button is greyed out and I can't update.

So I bought my game by downloading from Amazon, which as far as I know is not going to post any patch updates for download. When I go to my Darkest Hour launcher and click "update," it sends me to this webpage http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/announcement.php?f=554 which says "Invalid Announcement specified."

I saw the suggestion above about contacting Amazon directly. This is what their FAQ says:
Question: How do I get patches and updates for my game or software?
Answer: Some games and software will automatically look for patches and updates for you. For other products which do not automatically update, you may need to find updates and patches directly on the product manufacturer's website.

It sounds like Amazon is going to leave their users high and dry when it comes to patching. I can try sending them an email, but I anticipate getting rebuffed as they say "use the game's internal update mechanism."

Any ideas on how to download the new patch?

I know it's not the DH development team's 'fault' (for lack of a better word) but just a suggestion. If we are NOT going to be able to get patches via the launcher (Paradox created??) update button, then maybe it should be removed. Tis frustrating and a bit disingenuous.

Just sayin'.

Great game, by the way, guys. :)

I totally disagree with the autoupdate tool in the launcher, specially if it gets to work in the future. I understand the issue of people who didn't bought the game on gamer's gate, but hey, what about publishing it here, in the technichal support forum, as an attached file? This way that people will get a direct link from the launcher, just log in, and download their patch. And us, those who bought in gamer's gate, would have also the forum option if there's a problem with GG (which is working great by the moment, you even download an updated installer of the game, no need of install game + install patch in future).

And what's the reason to sustain such an opinion? I firmly think that those who haven't registered the game shouldn't get patches nor support unless they email tech support and show their serial or other acreditation. This way people who didn't buy the game won't get instant access to new patches, maybe they'll get them elsewhere, but pretty much later than those who have actually bought the game and support the project. It's about us being premium users. So I'm talking from the user's perspective, and not from developers who, however, will get more customers this way.

Saying it briefly, I just regret the patch not being published in the restricted forums, but I understand that, as it's Paradox's Forums and Paradox's rules. It'll be nice to see that in future, and not the in-game autoupdate for everyone. If they have internet for autoupdating they have it too for logging in the forums or, if available, downloading from retailer's.

Good night folks, hope you all get the patch the sooner ;)

Finally I decided to patch DH via launcher (after playing some games on 1.00) but sadly, since yesterday, it says: "Unable to read online content. Check your internet connection." and the "Update" button is greyed out. I bought DH from GamersGate. Their servers are down or something?
