How to get Corporate State?

I’m looking at the government types and thinking going for one I haven’t yet. The +1 corporation in Corporate State sounds pretty tasty.

My problem is, I don’t see how to get to it. No interest group supports it out of the box, and none of the normal ideologies seem to support it based on the info on the wiki.

It looks like these are the only ideologies that support it:
Baronial
Caudillismo
Pontifical

That looks like South America and the Papacy only.

Am I missing something? Or do I have to play these specific nations to see support for it via the flavored ideologies?

You are looking only on IG ideologies, and not on Character Ideologies. Corporatist and Fascists like it. Getting Corporatists is actually pretty common among many different IGs.

You'll have to work with your IG leaders' ideology.

Corporatist and Fascist will work best, but depending on your current Governance Principle other might work as well.

Also, corporate state is fairly common "second-choice", so royalists might support it over a true republic, republicans over a monarchy, etc.

Corporate state is pretty easy to get, a lot easier than Council Republic.

The easiest way is stay as a monarchy until you unlock corporate state. All of the IG’s who prefer republics, will also prefer Corporate State’s over monarchy.

Alternatively the second easiest way, if you start as a Republic, is make the devout strong through religious schools. When corporatism is researched, start and boost the corporatist movement. Eventually you’ll get a corporatist devout leader, and then you’ll have plenty of support to pass it.

You are looking only on IG ideologies, and not on Character Ideologies. Corporatist and Fascists like it. Getting Corporatists is actually pretty common among many different IGs.

I think that was exactly the mistake I was making.

As you say, it looks like I just need a Corporatist leader. I could then find a Positivist and build a Technocratic Corporate state.

That seems very doable.

I’m thinking about Russia or Qing. I think Russia because I’m not sure I’m ready for the Opium war challenges. Plus, there’s a Great Game I’ve never finished.
