im currently playign the trial, and im ahving a hell hard time egttign enoguh gold. got plenty of wood and all,but gold's EXTREMLY low and thsu my crops get destroyed and all. is there a more renewable way of getting gold other than selling logs or mining?

You can always loot enemy dungeons, though they are scarce in the tutorials.

So for the tutorial i suggest you stick with mining and trading resources.

so we dont have a gold tree or alchemy barrel converting wood into gold? that sucks. gold is about the most used resource and now im always low on it while having maxed my food. any chance were gonna geta renawable-ish way to get gold later on? especially because a lot of farms continuesly need it to supply food

yeah, but that goes REALLY slow. sell 10 wood and gain 3 gold. basicly means i need 10 workers working 24/7 on tree plants just to finance other things and checking and digging continuesly for gold and silver gets boring pretty fast.

yeah, my diggers just got mauled by some mobs because i digged to deep. but switching from lemons to carrots and using about 5 crafters to maintain crops and logs(tad more lgs than crops) was a good idea. too abd we cant sell food as well, as i often swim in food.

While I think having some sort of renewable-ish form of gold collection would be fun as a sort of cheat object, I get (I think I get) why it's done the way that it is. Purely to keep us digging, to keep us expanding our kingdom area constantly digging to get more gold, silver, titanium, obsidian etc, most of which can be turned into gold if desired. Titanium sells for a fair amount of gold, I think it's 125 gold for 10 titanium, although it seems that we don't really come across titanium all that often, or I haven't anyway.

What I would like to see is maybe the ability to hold down shift while clicking the sell or buy buttons to sell 5 times the amount shown on the screen, so for example hold shift and click sell button to sell titanium and I would sell 50 titanium for 750 gold per click. Maybe even hold down Ctrl and click to sell 10 times the amount shown at a time for when selling things like wood or stone.

Holding down shift to sell 10x the resources is already in the game. :)

Then upgrade your Spawning pool. those liitle buggers will eat you out of cave and hole.
:)

Trust us.... having too much of a renewable gold sorce took ALL the fun out of the game. 1,000 times better this way.
;)

well, i didnt really mean as a cheat, but its very annoying to be unable to buy things like proper beds ect. just because you lack gold. nothing wrong with a challenge, but its highly annoying to be stuck with decaying farms ad all just becuase you didnt found gold.

so having a very small gold income like thingy to offset the constant cost of ale trees and the like would be nice(even if its a endgame thingy that requires 100 titanium or so)

@zerkis well, to updrage it you need gold, which ims till collecting. was mainly looking for an effiecient way to feed and support my realm, which i now found.

These are all part of the fun of playing and learning this game. How do I get more gold? How do I keep the Dwarves happy? How can I get in to that den of enemies with only 3 Military? On and on it goes.
Many ways to go about it. Lots of tricks, ideas, things to look out for, etc.

My trouble is do I lay it all out there for you all and ruin all that fun that is waiting for you to discover or just give out little hints here and there without showing the whole thing and let you figure most of it out for yourselves?

Someone in another thread requested spawnable waves of attackers for custom mode, maybe this could also be a possible (renewable) source of income when you give those monsters some loot to drop when they die. So if you're low on money, spawn a few Goblins, crush them and buy fancy stuff! ;)

Obviously I need to RTFM (read the manual), but steam doesn't seem to have one. Is the wiki the only thing available or is there an actual manual that has all this information? Personally I prefer pdf manuals over web pages like wiki's as I almost always print out the pdf manual so that I can read it from paper. I can't explain why, but I retain things that I read off of paper far more than anything that I read on the screen.

No manual huh?

this is not just something for custom, but also for campaign. for example, im currently running the nrthern pass (or somthing liek that level)(second sector), and am still doing well(beside mining into a hole of spiders right next to the sleeping area so i lost a dwarfling), but i fear to run ot of gold while im trying to run a playstyle like i saw in one of the video's(research and mass dwarflings, jsut without the dwarflings but research, train some millitary guys while sticking to the main base and letting some crafters gather every basic thing you need), which is now impossible due me needing to mine continuesly or i run out of food and logs.
