How to get more asteroids?

I got one asteroid right after researching the landers, but it's been like 30 more Sols and no more asteroids are coming, I built the recon center as well, but I only get other events (which I guess are from it) every time it finishes doing its thing. Is it just bad luck?

I think so, yes. The recon center has a progress bar, and each time that finishes, you should get a minor discovery, event, or asteroid.
