How to get rid of double-missions?

How do I get rid of double-missions? I have two missions saying the same thing 'Hold Tyrol', and both end sometime in the 31st century. I don't think I'd ever get the points if I waited, plus the monarch won't give me any new missions. How do I get rid of them? =)

Sounds like a bug so ou probably can't get rid of them without editing your save game. But why bother?

I always find it a pain in the neck when the monarch gives me missions. They are always stupid things like Annex France (while playing as Scotland). Just pick your own missions instead.

This happens when you have no missions selected currently, are just about to choose a mission and the AI simutaneously chooses the same mission as you just did.

Yes, once you get it you will have to manually edit the savefile or load a savegame from before the incident occured. To keep this from happening again always keep 2 or 3 missions going at the same time with different start/end date (so they don't end all at once and the AI picks one for you).


But why bother?

Well, for me at least, missions usually constitute about 1/3 of my total VP in the end ...

Well, your supposed to choose them yourself. Only when you fail to have any missions ongoing at all does the computer choose one at random for you (which usually isn't the best one).

I know it is best to chose them yourself. His point was that his monarch woudn't give him any more missions. My point was that he didn't have to wait for the monarch - he could pick them himself. understand?

Actually, yes the monarch seems uncapable of choosing missions I could possibly finish. Still, I don't seem to be able to choose any of those simple 'Hold XXXXX'-missions, because I already have 'Hold Tyrol'. Twice!
Exactly HOW can I edit the saved game?

In the [your savagame].eug (huge 2MB textfile) look for

Remove all missions, save, load the game AND make shure you choose new missions before you start the clock.
