Title says it all. Since 4.0 the robot assembly does not build a robot, instead some workforce is automated.

But the tech for gaining modification point and having robot capable of working specialist job are still there so..do I miss something or is it a bug?

Mine do. Did you build an "automation building" rather than "robot assembly"? Because those use the same icon, and the former has such a short tooltip (and absurd energy upkeep) it almost looks like some kind of debug building that was left in by accident.

I think the energy requirement is getting nerfed to somewhat more reasonable levels in the next patch (it will only scale by district size, not buildings), but I agree it feels like a placeholder.

Every other building type that affects the district directly is unique per district. The "more output" building is different from the "more districts" building. But the automation building is just "automation building" with the same icon as the robot assembly and unlocked by the same tech.

On that topic, what does this building do anyways? What is "workforce automation"? Does it mean that percentage of the district's jobs function without workers? If so, does it remove those jobs entirely or can pops still work them? Between the building reusing the robot assembly icon, the three word description and no available tooltips on the building or the term "workforce automation", it looked like some kind of bug so I ended up ignoring it.

Yes.

The jobs are still there, but "already filled up", so pop workforce won't be used on them.
