I have been playing CK 1.05 in SP for a few weeks now, I don't think I crashed once, but I noticed that in MP I seem to CTD every 20 minutes or so. How can I minimize CTDs?
ITs just me and my friend playing, using CK 1.05 - he has a router, I have a router, both of us have the ports forwarded. IS this normal to have so many CTDs? How do I minimize or eliminate them?
Unfortunately MP code just doesn't get as thoroughly tested as the SP stuff, so it contains more bugs. Add in the unstable nature of connections, and you will find that yes, MP unfortunately is quite a bit more unstable.
With that said, there are a few things you can do. First, defrag your hard-drives. Second, minimise other programs running beside CK. Third, do not use any window modes or suchlike.
