How to Peace with an AI that has nothing to gain?

My current King of Sicily is a genius on all aspects, has amazing advisers, awe causing Prestige and Piety from a successful crusade, and was until recently insanely rich.

Then the count of Padua declare war on him, bringing a resurgent Germany with him. The count would White Peace about a year later, but the King of Germany, with Real Duress and no claims on me what-so-ever, keeps on sending his men to their pointless death, even though I now have a positive war score of 19.

How can I end this non-sense, that is also bankrupting me?

had something similar happend to me in a western isles-going-for-ireland game, where i had to utterly annihilate brittany's armies to get him to his senses, he had no claims of any sort, and i was bankrupt...
if you have any gold, tribe bribing him a small ammount? shouldn't be required, but to get peace it's probably worth it..

How can I end this non-sense, that is also bankrupting me?

If it is totally meaningless, you can always F12-Byzantine a white peace, and justify it with the German King finally figuring out that he should concentrate on his own realm, instead of a pointless war with you.

He finally came to his senses when massive revolts erupted. Kingdom's half fallen now, and I'm warring his son over a Duke title he holds.

Have similar German-king problems, playing Lombardy (+ Savoie, Genoa, Urbino, Touscana, Spoleto and Venice, for now - enought to claim King of Italy title). And, cause I'm papal controller, German king is excommunicated heretic. His army is bigger, but can do nothing. If he comes to Italy, I break him. Than go north until see that Germans gathere another big army, so I can't gain all their demence provinces. They regain captured territories, and I restore army - for a few years. Again and again. My duke is 42, German King is 38... They are both wounded. That's interesting for me - who will die first? And what will happen next? I hope some day Pope will say "Pax! Pax!" - and there will be peace.
