Hi

I am having a bit of difficulty with trying to fire only one missle or torpedo at a time. When I engage a target my platform seems to fire all it's ordnance. In one Tutorial I had a Virginia class sub stalking two tankers and when it came time to fire there were 4-6 Harpoons fired and several Mark 48's. I only wanted to fire 1 Torpedo.

Can you tell me how to do this properly.

I have played 4 of the 6 Tutorials and I really enjoy this sim. I will be purchasing this game this week

Good Job

Go into your weapon managing screen of that vessel (just above the flight deck icon) and adjust the ammo spent.
When it comes to certain weapons (like torpedoes) you can do a bearing launch manually from there aswell.

Hope this helped, Skjold

In the "Arms view" you can chose to let your units save on the missiles when they fire. Or you can let them just spray everything away at once. When you chose "medium" it wil fire as many missiles as it takes to take out the enemy and sometimes you need to fire all at once. But the game wont count it if there are several other units firing the same amount so in some cases it's best to have it at low.

Edit: A bit to late.

Edit2: I do think this will help you, as it helped me allot.

We're probably going to adjust "minimal" attack down.

To conserve, chose specific weapon (select it) and then turn off the "group attack" button (battle planner panel) so you have to attack each enemy unit separately. If group attack is on (default) the AI will go through the entire group by priority and assign weapons to each individually. One sub attacking several surface ships - pretty much all your missiles and torps will go in one salvo.

Thanks for the advice

I think I figured out what I was doing wrong

In order to fire a single weapon you need to go into the battleplanner and turn off group attack button Like JanH said

Then select the weapon you want to use and without closing the battle planner right click on the unit you want to attack.

Also remember to turn the engagement strength to minimal.

I was able to fire a single amraam against an air target and so far that seems like that is all that will be fired
