Two beatification events are in the character_health_events file. One of the events kills character to old age and other kills to illness. Trigger conditions are that character has enough piety and have traits which make him religious person (i. e. excommunicated or scepticals can't become beatified, while zealous and chaste people can). And character has to be old or have illness. Then if your king's father gets this trait there's follow up event which can make him saint.

Beatification

There are two events that can make a character canonized

Event 1000
1. The character must be 45
2. The character must either be catholic or orthodox
3. The character must not be excommunicated, heretic and sceptical
4. The character must have one of these traits
- chaste
- forgiving
- honest
- just
- merciful
- modest
- zealous
- temperate
5. The character must have at least 25 piety

The immediate effect of this event is that the character dies and becomes canonized

Event 1001
1. The character must have one of these traits
- illness
- plague-infested
- pneumonia
2. The character must either be catholic or orthodox
3. The character must not be excommunicated, heretic and sceptical
4. The character must have one of these traits
- chaste
- forgiving
- honest
- just
- merciful
- modest
- zealous
- temperate
5. The character must have at least 1 piety

The immediate effect of this event is that the character dies and becomes canonized

Only characters with the canonized-trait can become saint, this is done by event.

Event 1156
1. The character must be a ruler
2. The character must not be excommunicated, heretic and sceptical
3. The character must have at least 50 piety
4. The character must have at least 150 gold
5. The character must be at least 20
6. The father of the character must have the canonized-trait
7. The father of the character must not be excommunicated, heretic and sceptical

This event has 2 options

Option A:
1. You lose 150 gold
2. You gain 10 piety
3. There is a 50% chance that you will become zealous or there is a 50% chance that you will become proud
4. There is a 25% chance that you will gain 100 piety and that your father becomes a saint

Option B
1. You lose 5 piety
2. You gain the sceptical trait

So a one-time piety bonus is the only thing you gain from having your father become a saint
