Does anyone know how to remove the grey base wall you get when making an asset that gets placed on water? In this example you can see the Yacht has it's base removed... I tried figuring out a way through mod tools but I can't seem to get it to work. I even used that Yacht as a template in the asset editor but I still get the grey wall you see below the cargo ship. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks

have you tried to contact the creator of the Yacht? :)
When choosing your preset, you can select any type (building, intersection) and then the asset your mod is based of... so try a bit to get the right one. I have only created buildings so far, they got this grey base

If your model goes through the horizontal plane (x.y) at 0 then the foundation is formed off the outline of that section cut. Maybe the yachts are hovering just ever so slightly above the water but you can't tell because it's close enough to look ok?

Yea they are hovering. I was trying to make it so the boats would go below the water line.. I figured out how to get rid of the base for it.. the problem is if you asset goes below the 0 plane you get a concrete texture which sucks.. so half your model is concrete. Even though some people complain that the boats are floating, I'm going that route anyways because it looks better. People just need to have an imagination. you can only really tell that the boats are floating in the air if you get down to sea level with first person camera mod.

did you play around with the modtools m_editprefab stuff? i tihink there is an option to deselect "nobase" that might be worth looking at? it might not be for that though... not sure :/

I would then cut off a small part

so it kinda looks like there is still something in the water, though it's floating in the air.
