How to repay a loan?

Hi everybody,
as a bloody beginner I have two problems (playing with 1.07c german version and freshly downloaded IGC)

1. I have a loan running now for more than 10 years because I don't know how to repay it before it prolongs - it's a question of 'which button do I have to click on' - not of 'don't have the money'. Can anybody give me a short description?

2. I - playing as russia - have an alliance with crimea, venezia, bohemia and moldavia. But if I declare war, I have no possibility to invite my partners to join me - so every war I'm fighting, I'm alone (they don't refuse, they are completely silent!!) How is it done to invite them?

Any help highly appreciated!!

a little shield will pop up in the top right corner of the screen for both loan repayment (when the five year period is up) and inviting allies to join you in war (when you declare war or are declared upon)
click on the shield and a window should open up asking you whether you want to pay or extend the loan or whether you want to invite your allies to join you

Alternatively change the settings so that a window appears right in the middle of ur screen and pauses when sommink important happens.

What BiB said. I missed a couple of loan payments in my first few games as well till I figured out that it might be a good idea to simply adjust the game message settings. I'd recommend to set any message which relates to a game event you consider important (declarations of war, loan payment due date, offers of Royal Marriages and alliances etc.) to show up in a message box and pause the game. That way, you can let the game run at high speed but won't miss anything crucial.
