I had two conquistadors in the same port with a bunch of ships and couldn't split the conquistadors apart. The 'split' or 'divide' (I'm at work and don't remember the name) button was greyed out. When I clicked 'reorganize' they offered me a default loser naval officer on the bottom of the info panel, and kept my two conquistadors in the same unit on top. How do you get these guys apart?

Split conquistadors

Normally, it is possible to split them like you split two armies. If you have two conquistadors, they are normally two different units, as you cannot have two conquistadors in only one unit, I believe.

You must have at least 20 ships (units) in the stack to be allowed to use 'split' command and this is the only way to separate them.

Hmmm. Is that a bug? If so, it should be added to Hartmann's list. If not, what is the reason? Up the point that they became joined, I could assign them to as few as a single ship.

No!
And what is worse - the highest rank officer is counting for a battle - but quite soon the officers with lower rank have better stats! Or if you have a conquestador - it is good to put him in charge when attacking enemy provinces, because of the high attrition losses. If the conquestador has lower stats it seems it better again especially in desert or North provinces or through the long movements.

Probably not a bug, but intended. The bug is you cannot separate the leaders (any leaders that are stacked), you can only use 'split' option.

Well, that's stupid. What if I want to assign different armies to my conquistadors without splitting it? How do you do that?

Hmm, I just don't see the problem.

Split you army so that each of your leaders gets one of its own.
Then select them all and click reorganize(or whatever it's called).
Now you can select any of the unints and move troops back and forth between them.

If it didn't work like it does now, how would you create a new army WITHOUT splitting the leaders ?!? Sometimes you might actually want to keep them togher.

Just right to the default admiral is a lighted 'arrow'.
Click it and you can go through the avaliable admirals/explorers or generals/conquistadors in the same province as the choosen fleet/army. That way you can organise the troops as you like.

And no, there only have to be 2 ships in a group to make the 'split' option avaliable.
But they cannot be moving (I think).

Well Huszics, it looks to me like you are missing the difference between a workaround and a bugfix.

When I want to reorganize an army with 2 named leaders, I would expect the leaders to split.

And what do I do, when I have my tho explorers stacked together in india? Soembody has stated, that you need 20 ships to split. So I sail all the way back to Tago, join them with my homefleet, split them, reorganizefor 10 minutes and then back again to india? that doesn't sound like it should work that way.

Sorry missed your second question Huszics.

keeping your leaders together can still be acomplished using 3 reorgainze operations.
And from my point of view keeping them together is what you would want more seldom, so should be the operation that is more complicated to do.
