Recently I have been playing a game as Persia; one that I have really been enjoying. I have done my best throughout the entire game to maintain the authoritarian government that was in power when the game starts. When the democratic coup happened in the early 40's, I suppressed it and the Allies invaded. I managed to hold off the British and the Soviets until my Japanese allies could arrive from their push across India to relieve me.

Yet now with my country once again in my complete control, I am in the early 50's where a "democratic coup" event keeps occuring. Only this time it does not offer the option of suppressing the coup, and only instead comes to inform me that all my efforts have now been wasted and I will in fact play as a democratic country.

^Needless to say, I'm not taking too kindly to this. I looked around on the HoI2 editor that comes with the game, but for some ridiculous reason it only lets me edit just about everything except events.

So what I'm asking is how exactly can I stop this event from happening? It always seems to happen at some point in September 1951. Is it possible to just delete it entirely from the game? If so, how? I appreciate any help I can get.

First, find the event in the events folder and make a note of its event number and then either:

a) Open the console (hit F12) and then type "event ##### COS" where ##### is the event number. This will trigger the event for Costa Rica (so make sure it exists), but once triggered it shouldn't trigger again.
b) Load the save game file into notepad (or notepad++) - In the section near the bottom marked 'sleep events' add the event number to the list. It will now never fire.
