I did finished several HoI2 MP games and one i remember very very good, 43' Berlin and my only left 120 divisions encircled by evil Fiendixs comunists hordes.

why evil ? We were only bringing truth to the decieved german populace:D

a good suggestion was to let the ai play russia for the first 1-2 years?

BTW I would suggest for our game that I/russia loads the game up with a -5% or -10% modifier to tech research so it will take me longer to get 41 infantry..?

Sounds terrible, are there no houserules to keep this game alittle more even?
Like in HOI.
Anyone know what changes that are going to be included in the 1.2 patch?
 
well what houserules would u suggest? no tech reserach by soviets for 1 year?
as to patch 1.2 it allegedly will include an ai... dont know what bugs it will fix as there is no bug forum ... so nobody knows anything and the devs are not saying...

You don't need to be experienced to do math. When USA and USSR each are spending over 250 IC in 1937, and Germany, as the strongest Axis, is not even close to 200, that about says it all, especially when you know that USA and USSR can have basically the same tech as Germany within a few months by the time war rolls around.

k, I thougth we had dropped USA.....and for SU, well they did outproduce Germany in HOI too (in the early years). In 40 Germany should outproduce SU with atleast 2:1 but then again, it depends on how u play.

Sure they did, but in HOI II they are outproducing germany with divisions that are nearly equal man-for-man in combat strength. We are discussing MP without handcuffing the USA and USSR players, sure if you create a list of rules to chain them down pre-war the game could be balanced.
 
And we'll have to see, I know I have had a very optimal start as japan, and germany seems to be a very experienced player, we are going to do our damn best to make it a real fight. We are playing with limited house rules to evaluate what rules we do need to have a fun balanced MP experience. Probably a "Prof. Ebbesen-ish" MP mod is the best bet from my initial estimation.
 
I've not played enough MP games to make any definite statements on balance, but I've played enough to be sure that the skepticism about having more than 6 players is unwarranted. I've played at least 8 sessions with than a dozen players, including nations with 2-3 players in co-op, and we had no problems except for a guy who was struggling at the start with his router.

Heh, after some tests I'm estimating the USA will easily field a couple dozen carriers versus me at the start of conflict.
