i meant troops in EU

But why would you consider spaceships in Stellaris the equivalent of EU regiments?

In EU 1 ship stands for 1 ship, so in Stellaris 1 ship will stand for 1 ship.

In EU 1 soldier does not stand for 1000 soldiers. 1 regiment stands for one 1 regiment, which includes 1.000 soldiers as a military unit, but the invidiual soldiers are considered after all, since causalities and the total number of soldiers is shown as a total number.

thanks for the details. well i thought there would be more battleships, because they would be much more, because the space needs ships. in the star wars movie, there are hundreds of ships aswell. i thought this way

I assume we will simply build hundreds of ships then. After all, we do not control them during battle. We only move the fleet around and tell it what to fight, but not how. The tactical battles are visiualized though.

Although most are fighters and such, which I guess we will buy in wings, or abstracted as a weapon/sub-unit in bigger ships, and bigger ships, which I guess are the real Battleships, are fewer in number

There are some flaws in that logic ;-) since 1 cog can then hold 1000 men, which isn´t the case in real life. I see them more like 1 cog is a small fleet of transport ship. But yes, one battleship must be one battleship in stellaris :)

Or maybe that's just what Pdx wants you to think, but it's actually super cog capable of holding 1000 men and even 1000 men and horses. :D

But alright, yes, in the case of the transport ships it is certainly an abstraction. ^^
